Consider using a blog. From a site visitor perspective, the site should look professional, and be
easy to use. But what about for the administrator or site owner that needs to maintain it? What
would make it perfect for them?
- Would not be dependent on where it’s hosted, nor would it be dependent on a certain web
designer to be able to easily add or change content.
- Accessible by the site owner - From any computer in the world, to add and edit content as
they wish without having to own expensive software, or have a computer science degree. This
also lowers the cost of Maintenance Agreements.
- Able grow with a business - Incorporate things later that may not be needed in the beginning,
like a shopping cart, a forum, live chat, contact forms, surveys, audio, video, or anything else
the site owner may desire.
- Built with search engines in mind - Every time a new page is added, a unique page specific
title tag would be automatically generated. The description tag too, would automatically come
from the first 150 characters of text on the new content page.
- An RSS Feed notifies subscribers that your site has updated.
- A site map is generated and zipped, then notifies Google to come an index your site, based off
that map. Additionally, dozens of news services too, could be automatically notified new
content had been added to the website so that they could come visit and index it immediately.
- Use Cascading Style Sheets allows for easy design changes, done literally within seconds.
- Runs on Free software, and supported by a community of thousands of designers and
developers.
Blogs are how you make the perfect website! While all these things might take place individually
with the proper systems in place and a lot of effort, there really hasn't been an all-in- one solution
that could please nearly everyone. It's not hype. In fact, it's why blogs are so popular. Until now,
this wish list of things that a perfect website should have wasn't realistic, until blogs came along.
Blogs are like having a free CMS (content management system), used to present the content. They
can be tweaked with plug-ins, to do just about anything.

Basic search friendly information filled out
Even the basics could be done for minimal expense. For example, you have to write meaningful
page titles that actually explain the page's content so that people will know what they'll get when
they click on a search hit.
|
|
In addition to Copywriting, the KEYWORDS and DESCRIPTION tags on each page should be spell
checked.
