Resolving priority 1 through 3

MIVA Store

This should be pretty simple to just activate. My guess, is that the template code to display it is messed up.

Previously this was being worked on by another developer, and possibly incomplete. Each item should be checked to make sure that the colors have been entered, or the code is working properly.

One solution might be to create a second store, that is not available to the public. Once the item is available for the customer to receive, this second store is for the Merchant to perform a second transaction on behalf of the customer. Instructions will be given on how to do this.

NOTE: This will mean updating prices in two different stores. Other solutions will be looked into.

Maybe it's a something you have to pay extra for? It doesn't come with the standard installation.

One solution might be Price Table Based Shipping which uses a chart like this:

This means, that items purchased at a price below $10 are charged $2.00 shipping. $15.00 items cost $10 to ship. This might solve a the problem of weight affecting the price of the items.

Priority 4 through 6 items

True, the keywords help search engines find you. But Google is constantly on the look-out for cheaters. Run-on paragraphs full of keywords is considered cheating. It might work in the short term, but long term results are always better than short term gains.

All Google has to do is "flip a switch" and now you're being penalized for cheating. You have to make these keywords appear as normal parts of your site, or cleverly hide them in small groups. Not only will search engines consider this proper, but people will actually be drawn to read it.

MIVA Store

Creating a new page for each category should be the solution. For example, a page of New Items or On Sale. This is a little tedious, as it needs to be regularly updated.

NOTE: I'll have to get clarification on usage on the term "Folders". MIVA doesn't have anything called folders. They have Pages and Categories. Once I get a chance to look at where these items go, might give me an idea what is to be done with all these items.

Put all new items to the top of the page instead of the bottom.

As you can see, the wording is controlled by HTML code, and not by properties of MIVA shopping cart. Therefore, you should be able to name it anything you want. It is suspected that the templates are so complicated, that finding where this wording needs to be changed, is very hard to find.

It appears that each product has properties of the item in the description field; instead of product descriptions. The MIVA 4 shopping cart does not support custom fields.

Priority 6 through 9 items, bonus services, minor adjustments or last minute items that were overlooked, or not critical to do sooner.

Some Clients will desire to independently edit or update their Web pages after completion of the site as a way to control costs, and avoid the expense of a Maintenance Agreement. Blogs are so easy, literally a caveman can do it.

What Avaluxe does with her blog, is use it to make new product announcements and newsletters. This is far easier than making custom pages within the shopping cart software to feature new items.

As you see here, Avaluxe customers leave favorable comments about her products, or ask questions directly related to her newest offerings. Comments could be disabled, or held for review before being published. Additionally, spam postings are automatically deleted so minimal undesired conversations will clutter up your blog.

This could be turned off.
